Advice To Your 13 Year Old Self: “Don’t believe what you read.”
Drawn to Helios by “chance and shared values,” Tim approaches each day at the company with enthusiasm to make a difference and face new challenges. He pulls motivation and inspiration from the lessons of his past: from overcoming prejudice, warfare, living in multiple countries, seeing history repeated, overcoming personal adversities, experiencing sports at top flight, and learning to share more of himself.
Tim’s extensive experience in the power and renewable energy industries has taught him one thing: the speed of true change is slow.
“The times are a changin’…” has been sung for 50 years, but we haven’t changed. Every generation thinks they are special, different and smarter. They aren’t. Don’t repeat the mistakes of the past and note that often people simply call it something different but fail to recall history.”
He sees the true challenge in acknowledging and adapting to what has been done before, while recognizing people’s limitations.
Day to day, Tim’s role encompasses leadership, ownership, and building a platform for change and success. Minutely, he is responsible for project execution, sales development, coaching and training. He is always acquiring new knowledge, leaning in to differences in approach. He is intrigued by “anything new or adaptation of ideas to known problems.”
When asked what makes him perfect for his role, he answered:
“I don’t believe any one person is perfect for any one role. Roles evolve so my fit is related to my history of life’s experiences, the passion to make a difference and the shared vision with the founders.”
