Sergio Aravena leads business development at Helios Energy, helping commercial, federal, and community clients find the right electrical and energy solutions for their facilities. He works across the full range of Helios’s capabilities, builds relationships with owners and decision-makers, and guides each client from the first conversation through project delivery.
Sergio is also leading two of Helios’s growth initiatives. Sports Lighting brings high-performance, energy-efficient lighting to athletic fields, courts, and facilities. Lights for Christ helps churches and faith-based nonprofits lower operating costs and improve their facilities so more resources can go toward their mission.
Sergio spent fifteen years with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He served first as an Inspector and later as a Federal Air Marshal, and he held leadership positions across the organization. He maintained a Top Secret security clearance and supported sensitive projects and missions where discretion, preparation, and accountability were essential. That firsthand understanding of how federal agencies operate makes him a strong partner to Helios’s government clients and teaming partners, and it shapes how he works with every customer: he listens carefully, plans thoroughly, and follows through.
After his federal career, Sergio moved into enterprise SaaS sales, working with a Strategic Accounts team on complex deals involving many stakeholders, long decision cycles, and layered approvals. That experience carries directly into contracting work of every size. Whether he’s working with a general contractor, a facilities director, a school board, a ministry leadership team, or a federal contracting office, Sergio knows how to bring the right people to a clear, confident decision.
Sergio is co-founder of Muletown Holdings, a private holding company that acquires small, founder-owned service businesses in Middle Tennessee. Running a business himself gives him a practical sense of what owners and organizational leaders care about most: cost, return on investment, operational continuity, and long-term value. He brings that owner’s mindset to every Helios client relationship.
Sergio holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Florida International University in Miami, Florida. He lives in Middle Tennessee and is invested in the communities Helios serves.
Sergio’s philosophy is straightforward: understand what the customer actually needs, put real numbers in front of them, and deliver what was promised. He’s the right first call for any Helios need, from a commercial electrical project to a federal opportunity to a lighting upgrade for a ballfield or a sanctuary.
