The university sought to lower lighting energy expenses and eliminate costly maintenance expense. Further, they needed to substantially increase the level of illumination inside the classrooms, dormitories, student activity, and athletic facilities. Improving lighting levels across the many parking lots, pathways and other exterior spaces were also critical for increasing safety and security for the students, faculty, and staff.
