Advice To His 13 Year Old Self: Don’t give up so easily.
Kenny Buckley comes to Helios after a long and successful career in operational leadership. A business owner three times over, he wakes up every morning with the motivation to build something great, approaching challenges with enthusiasm:
“I have never looked at challenges as something to hold me back or overcome. I have always looked at them as needed opportunities to get better,” explains Kenny.
The experience of starting three businesses from the ground up, while nurturing growth in another (which he helped grow 12x over in a 16 year span), has fostered an ambition and provided the necessary foundation for optimal operational success that he now brings to Helios. His role is to protect the profitability of the company, which he accomplishes daily by increasing operational efficiencies, developing streamlined processes, placing people in the correct seat, and giving them the tools and freedom to succeed. Kenny looks to the national and global landscape of clean energy to see how differently it is being implemented. He welcomes the challenge to stay abreast of the ever-changing technologies in the clean energy field.
Drawn to Helios’ team, mission, and vision, Kenny appreciates the entrepreneurial culture and company integrity: “We are a Veteran Owned Service Disabled Company that will provide the best solution for your needs, even if that means less margin for Helios.”
In preparing for his role as Chief Operating Officer, he looked to the drive instilled in him by his father who told him to: “do it right the first time or don’t do it at all son!” When asked what makes him the perfect person for his role, Kenny humbly explains, “There are no perfect people, only people that strive every day for perfection. I just happen to be one of those.”
